A pre-Annual General Meeting technical talk titled Strategic AI Tech: Economic Applications towards Business Success presented by Professor Eric Goh will be held at Wu Jia Restaurant, Pekaka Square, Sungai Dua, Penang, at 5pm-6pm on 1 March 2025.

With the rapid quantum leap into the exciting and dynamic era of ‘Artificial Intelligence’; the established forward-looking technologists and technicians from the vibrant industrial sector all round the world need to upskill and progress exponentially via acquiring the latest state-of-the-art knowledge, dynamic management skills, smart technologies and resourceful practices to stay competitive. Artificial Intelligence (AI), is concisely the development or simulation of human intelligence for machines where they are programmed to learn, think and help in problem-solving industry-centred activities. Dato’ Professor Ts. Ir. Dr. Eric Goh, FASc, attached to Universiti Sains Malaysia, is acknowledged with over 38 years extensive international and national academic, research and industrial work experience. He is an active contributor towards several TAM and MBOT noble projects. Dato’ Eric Goh has also recently designed and co-organised several Government recognised HRDF-technical courses, such as ‘Professional ESG’ and ‘Drone Pilot Certification’ to benefit all in the industry. Prof. Goh, presently IQM’s National Deputy President (Professional Development) has also successfully completed his leadership term as State Branch Chairman – Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM-Pg), USM’s Head of Quality and Accreditation, Honorary Executive Director – Academy of Quarrying, State Review Board, IQM EXCOl and offer of co-leadership in obtaining international ISO/IQNet/UKAS Quality Certification status for Professional Training. He has successfully co-accredited over 70 university academic programmes from his noble contributions as EAC’s Delegation and Panel Head. Dato’ Eric Goh is a prolific author of over 230 technical publications which includes 12 technical reference books and 13 monographs. He has also contributed as Expert Speaker for Certified Industrial Technical Courses, Motivation Talks and Technology/Engineering/STEM Education Seminars; which all have enlightened over 1500 in the industry and academia. In recognition of his professional leadership and expertise; Prof. Goh was nominated to ‘Fellowship (FASc)’ of the prestigious Academy of Sciences Malaysia, conferred the ‘Dato’ship Award’, recipient of the esteemed Institute of Quarrying (UK)’s ‘International Citation Award’, ‘ASEAN AFEO’s Honorary Membership Award’, ‘Distinguished Engineer Award’, ‘Staff Quality Award – Best Lecturer (Teaching)’, ‘IQM’s Award of Excellence’, ‘Distinguished Individual Award (International Category)’, 3 times awarded the inspiring ‘Excellent Service Award (APC)’ in 2018, 2012 and 2003; and selected for the 2018 Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award (USA). In capacity building, he is a Certified Technical Course Trainer (German-Malaysian Institute). Dato’ Prof. Eric Goh is frequently invited as International Keynote Speaker/Visiting Professor/Expert Panel to over 210 technical conferences, seminars and courses worldwide in Australia, Canada, Singapore, China, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia.
