Synopsis
Route to Professional Technologist & Certified Technician is an essential course to provide a brief understanding needed by the applicants. The course will be delivered by the Professional Technologist who is also actively involved as a Professional Assessment Panel MBOT.
This talk will cover on the awareness of being a professional and how to success in the application for Ts and Tc, will also touch on the information of MBOT itself, other professional bodies, how Ts and Tc different with other professional bodies, and most importantly how to prepare towards a success application and assessment. The panels will share on the CRITERIA assessment as well as the tips and guidelines to help the applicants to be ready for the professional assessment.

Speaker

Ts. Wan Mohd Arif, P.Tech, F.I.M.M is a materials engineering graduate from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2002. He obtained his master’s degree in materials engineering focusing on the development of materials for thermal management from Universiti Malaysia Perlis. He has around 20 years of works experiences; first 7-years in the research and development works both from Advanced Materials Research Center (AMREC-SIRIM) and Intel Penang. From 2009 (until now) he joined UniMAP as the academic staff. He also served at the ICoE. Bahagian Hubungan Industri (BHI-KPT) from 2014-2017 in managing the funds for human development program.

He is an active member of MBOT, IEM and IMM. He is a FELLOW member at the Institute of Materials, Malaysia (IMM) and currently is a Council Member of IMM. He was appointed as a Chairman for MBOT-Techzone (Northern Chapter) and the TTWG for Materials Science and Technology (MT) field. He is involved as a professional assessor for MBOT and IMM. He also involved as an Accreditation Panel for TTAC-MBOT and also the Expert Panel for the Jawatankuasa Penilaian Dana JPD – Bahagian Dana MOSTI. Currently Wan Mohd Arif serves as a Pegawai Latihan Vokasional (PLV) at Fakulti Teknologi Kejuruteraan Kimia. Besides teaching & learning, he also is involved in multiple research works, consultation project and NGO activities.
